The Nigerian shot stopper bagged the prestigious award at the CAF awards in Morocco.
She defeated Moroccan shot-stopper Khadija El-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Olaminii to clinch the award.
In the Women’s World Cup match against Olympic champions Canada, she displayed her heroics, making three remarkable saves. Among them was a crucial stoppage of a 50th-minute penalty from Christine Sinclair.
Her outstanding performance ensured a goalless draw for the Super Falcons, leading to her well-deserved recognition as the Player of the Match and attracting significant international attention.
