The Super Falcons of Nigeria have dropped two spots in the latest FIFA ranking released on Friday.
This was revealed in the ranking table on the website of the world football governing body, on Friday.
The nine-time African champions dropped 21.96 points to rank 1627.12 points, as against 1649.08 in August, the last time the women’s rankings were released.
Super Falcons who were previously ranked 32nd now dropped to 34th position.
However, the Nigeria side still remain team to reckon with in Africa.
Falcons showed remarkable performance in the 2024 Olympics and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia and Cape Verde but it was not enough to boost their position on the ranking.
Meanwhile, Reigning women’s world champions Spain end the year as the number one ranked team, which is their first-ever feat.
Former FIFA women’s World Cup winners USA, rakenked number two, France are third, England maintained fourth and Sweden dropped to fifth.
The next FIFA women’s world ranking will be published in March 2024
