After enduring over 14 hours of difficult treatment from Libyan authorities, the Super Eagles players and officials are finally preparing to depart the country.
This situation was confirmed by the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who shared the news on her X account.
In her update, she stated, “Super Eagles team now boarding. Journey mercies to all of them.”
Super Eagles player, Bruno Onyemaechi, also expressed relief as the team was set to return to Nigeria. In his message, he said, “Me and Libya, I don wash my hands commot. Nothing concerns me and una again. Thank God I’m going back.”
The Nigerian team had earlier been stranded when Libyan authorities reportedly refused to allow their chartered flight to refuel, delaying their return.
