Spain secured their place in the Euro 2024 final with a 2-1 victory over France, propelled by a stunning goal from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal, who etched his name in history as the youngest ever scorer in a UEFA Euro tournament.
France initially took the lead in Munich through captain Kylian Mbappe, who delivered a precise cross for Randal Kolo Muani to head home at the far post, marking their first goal from open play.
However, Spain swiftly responded, with Yamal showcasing his brilliance by cutting inside and curling a mesmerizing shot that swerved into the net off the left post.
Just moments later, Dani Olmo extended Spain’s lead with his third goal of the competition, driving into the box before unleashing a powerful strike to complete the comeback.
The goal shifted the game’s momentum, and within four minutes, Spain completed their comeback.
Dani Olmo’s shot from close range was deflected into the net by Jules Koundé, following excellent play from the RB Leipzig midfielder.
This marks three consecutive knockout games in which Olmo has scored, a record unmatched by any other Spanish player.
Spain now await the winners of the second semifinal between England and the Netherlands for the highly anticipated final showdown on Sunday in Berlin.
