A bandit attack in Rafi and Wushishi local government areas of Niger State, has left six people dead and many others abducted.
According to Daily Trust, around 50 individuals were reportedly kidnapped by the bandits during the incident.
The residents explained that before the intervention of the ground troops and air component of the Nigeria Air Force, the bandits had held six communities under siege in the local government area.
A resident of Zungeru, who pleaded anonymity said, “They (bandits) have been actually operating since Tuesday. And there are casualties because this morning (Wednesday), we saw dead bodies being conveyed to Minna. Among the communities attacked were Yakila and several others around Akare axis.”
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, is yet to confirm the incident.
