The Finland-based self-acclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa has dismissed the letter written by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, describing it as fake.
Kanu had written a letter to Finland-based Simon Ekpa, ordering him to stop calling for sit-at-home in the Southeast.
In the handwritten letter, Kanu also ordered Ekpa, who on his Twitter account refers to himself as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, to stop antagonising governors or persons in political positions as he (Ekpa) is not in a position to know what they are doing on his behalf.
The letter read, “Simon, this is a direct order from me. I hereby instruct you to desist from calling for any sit-at-homes henceforth.
“Equally refrain from antagonising governors or persons in political positions because you are not in a position to know what they are doing on my behalf.
“I am ordering you to make a public announcement to the effect that you are in receipt of a direct order from me to cancel any Monday or future sit-at-home order in place at the moment.
“I embarked on the movement to liberate our people, not to enslave them. I despise any person or entity that wishes to inflict unnecessary hardship on our people.
“I have authorised Alloy to issue a press statement if you fail to make this announcement on your platform.”
IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful confirmed the authenticity of the letter while speaking with journalists.
Emma Powerful said, Yes, Onyeisi wrote it to him. My brother, that criminal has done a lot of damage in Igboland.”
Meanwhile, Ekpa has called on South Easterners to ignore the letter, which he described as fake and a misrepresentation of Kanu.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle, @simon_ekpa, tweeted, “Our attention has been drawn to the fake letter from the pit of hell being paraded by Nigerian media claiming that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wrote a letter. It is not only a joke but an insult taken too far that the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra is being misrepresented in this way.
“As the Prime Minister of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I call on all Biafrans to disregard the fake letter coming from DSS. We can’t take any orders from the Islamic DSS, and that is final. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be released, and he must address Biafrans from Finland. That is the condition of the Prime Minister of Biafra and the Biafra Republic Government In Exile.”
