A seven-storey building under construction has collapsed in the highbrow neighbourhood of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The collapse happened on Wednesday, about some minutes past 3p.m
Some construction workers working on the building were seen on the roof when the building caved in.
PUNCH Metro also reports that some construction workers had closed for the day when the incident happened.
The spokesperson for the Lagos Fire Service and Rescue Service, Amodu Shakiri, while confirming the incident, said, “We got a call around 3:58 p.m. We are currently trying to ascertain the claim that no one was under the rubble.”
However, the number of people injured due to the collapse hasn’t been ascertained.
