The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, has resigned from his position.
Salako’s resignation was confirmed in a statement made available by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Monday.
“This is a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu thanks the Commissioner for his services to the state and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
“The Governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are,” the statement read in part.
Dr Salako was born in 1968 in Lagos, Nigeria to Nigerian parents from Lagos State.
He earned a Bachelor of Technology in Urban and Regional Planning, the Federal University of Technology Akure and went ahead to obtain M.Sc. and PhD in the same field [Urban, Regional Planning] at the prestigious University of Lagos State.
He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and a member of the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria. Dr. Idris commenced his career in urban and rural planning as an Estate officer at Jide Taiwo & Co. between 1997-1998. He joined Hussplan Consult – Planning Practice as a Town Planner in 1998. He was an Environmental Officer at b-Environmental between 2001-2010.
He, however, joined the public sector between 2001-2003 as a Town Planning Officer at Oshodi-Isolo Local Planning Authority
