Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated the importance of enforcing and obeying constitutional laws in the state.
He stated this while reacting to reports of soldiers who were angry that the governor arrested one of their colleague for violating traffic rules in Lagos State.
While speaking at the Lagos State Government 2024 Annual Thanksgiving Service at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Race Course, he stated that the need for all residents of the state to abide by constitutional rules and regulations.
“Our laws have to be enforceable worldwide. Law and order are non-negotiable.
“It’s an opportunity for us to emphasize that all applicable laws in Lagos, passed by the Lagos State Assembly and supported by the judiciary, must be implemented.
“We need to live in an orderly society that comprehends and respects the rule of law, ensuring that one person’s rights end where another’s begin.
“We must continually understand that we all contribute to Lagos’ discourse and ensure that our laws concerning divorce are fully upheld.
“I urge all of you to please obey our laws, pay your taxes promptly.”
