Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated the former Chief Executive Officer of Newswatch Magazine, Mr. Ray Ekpu, over the death of his wife, Mrs. Uyai Ekpu.
Sanwo-Olu sent his condolences message in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Monday.
In the wake of Mrs. Ekpu’s passing at the age of 73 last Wednesday, the Governor expressed his condolences to her family, friends, and associates.
He also extended sympathies to the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, describing the loss as significant for the Ekpu family.
Sanwo-Olu said, “It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I commiserate with a veteran journalist and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Newswatch Magazine, Mr. Ray Ekpu, on the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Uyai Ekpu.”
