Ahead of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier League season, Rivers United have parted ways with 10 players.
The club’s past season was deemed lacklustre because of their inability to successfully defend their NPL title and finished in a position that did not qualify them for the Champions League.
Bolaji Sakin, who joined from Guinean team Horoya FC, is the most notable departure.
Ihunda Chigozie, Madu, Chiamaka, Fabian Nworie, and Darlinton Ovunda are also on the list.
Malachi Ohawume, Akpesiri Naibe, Francis Ifeanyi, Kenechukwu Agu, and Chukwudi Lawrence are the remaining players on the list.
Rivers United spent a lot of money and time recruiting, but nevertheless managed just third place.
