Reps strike out N5bn presidential yacht from supplementary budget

The House of Representatives removed the N5 billion presidential yacht from the 2023 supplementary budget.

According to Premium Times, this was announced by the Chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi (APC, Kano), after the passage of the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget.

Mr. Bichi explained that the committee transferred the funds to the student loan section, increasing it to N10 billion.

He further stated that the Committee increased the budgetary allocation of the Ministry of Defence from the initial allocation of N476bn to N546bn.
