Recall that the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, had on Friday revealed its intention to carry out remedial work on critical sections of the bridge’s inbound route to Lagos.
The decision to undertake these repairs aims to expedite the broader rehabilitation project for the Third Mainland Bridge.
In anticipation of the maintenance efforts, the ministry has deployed a sufficient number of personnel to manage the alternative routes.
Motorists have been urged to cooperate with the authorities, exercise patience, and adhere to prescribed safety measures during this period.
Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, issued a traffic advisory, encouraging motorists to explore alternative routes to access the island while the repair work is in progress.
Additionally, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Keisha, disclosed plans for a comprehensive overhaul of the bridge’s asphalt layers, slated to begin in late January 2024.
