Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, has successfully recovered the ₦3.6 million that was stolen from her Zenith Bank account on May 3.
She made the announcement in an Instagram live video, expressing her gratitude to Zenith Bank, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other individuals who assisted her in recovering her money.
George praised Zenith Bank for their swift action and Opay for their transparency, also thanking Safe Haven Bank and the Nigerian Police for their role in resolving the issue.
She promised to share more details about the incident and how she was able to recover her money.
“I want to thank Zenith Bank for your swift action. I want to thank Opay for being so transparent. I also want to thank Safe Haven Bank, EFCC, Nigerian Police,” she said.
This development comes after George had taken to social media on May 3, seeking help and crying out for assistance after discovering that ₦3.6 million had been withdrawn from her account by an individual identified as Cecelia Chiagoziem Okoro.
At the time, she shared a screenshot of the debit alert and pleaded with Zenith Bank to reverse the transaction, which they have now done.
Sharing a screenshot of the debit alert, George wrote, “I need help cos I’m dy!ng. This person has just cleared my account.
“Pls my people, everyone pls help. Pls Zenith Bank, Reverse it. I can’t access my app. I’m De@D.”
