Some tweeps have berated the Nigerian subsidiary of movie streaming platform, Netflix, after it shared a post dissing the redesigned Naira unveiled on Wednesday.
Some Nigerians had criticized the newly redesigned Naira as being nothing more than a colored version of the previous notes. The same line of reasoning was used when Netflix posted two variations of their logo along with the caption, “If we decide to change our logo. Old and new.
The tweet has since been removed, but Nigerians are still criticizing the foreign company for its disrespect.
Taiwo Ajakaye said, “Lol, the Sorosoke handler of #NetflixNaija deleted the tweet already. No work ethics, no capacity to restrain emotion and focus more on what matters. At the end of the day, they will blame stepmother for losing their jobs. No need to delete it o!”
Daisy Eff retweeted the offending post and said, “This is very disrespectful #netflix, #NetflixNaija. Dropping my subscription immediately.”
Okoye Chivita said, “It’s a shame #netflix would allow it’s handle #NetflixNaija to be turned into a political tool. Does that not even breach their own policy?”
Omechekoleya tweeted, “I sincerely hope who ever made that tweet is held liable. Idiots are with the loudest voice. #NetflixNaija, you people did wrong and I hope as a company you do right, apologize to Nigeria and Nigerians and fire the idiot that made that offensive post”
Sam Roks said, “I won’t renew my #NetflixNaija subscription when it expires this month. This is very insulting and condescending.”
