Real Madrid head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has appointed a new captain following Nacho Fernandez’s departure as a free agent this summer.
Nacho is set to join the newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsia.
According to COPE, Ancelotti has chosen veteran midfielder Luka Modric as the new captain of Los Blancos.
Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez have been named vice-captains.
Despite maintaining a wealth of experience in their squad, Real Madrid has seen the exit of two significant players this summer, with Nacho leaving and Toni Kroos retiring.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Real Madrid has lost their captain, following the previous departures of Marcelo, Karim Benzema, and Sergio Ramos.
