The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has asked Muslims in the state to pray for political leaders so that they can provide good governance and also pray for a peaceful and prosperous Plateau State.
The Governor on his X handle, on Monday enjoined Muslims to eschew the virtues of the Holy Prophet.
Governor Mutfwang, in a statement he issued in Jos on Monday, noted, “I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes on behalf of the government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State to you all, as you embark on this month of sacrifice and self-denial.
“Indeed, Ramadan offers a precious window for soul-searching, spiritual renewal, and moral fortification.
It is a time when acts of kindness and charity shine brightest, illuminating the path for those who have less. The observance of the 2024 Ramadan fast holds particular importance for us as a community. It presents a cherished opportunity to pray for our leaders so that they can provide good governance.
“As we undertake this noble spiritual endeavour, I urge each one of us to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Plateau State. As we thank God for the little we have done so far, I wish to seize this moment to reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the welfare of all Plateau citizens.
“Be assured that my administration is actively addressing the security concerns and economic challenges we face. With steadfast faith, I believe that Plateau will soon reclaim its esteemed status as a beacon of peace and a hub of tourism.
“The Time is Now for us to unite and embark on a transformative journey to realize the Plateau of our aspirations. I extend my sincere best wishes for a fulfilling and spiritually enriching Ramadan. Ramadan Kareem!”
