Paris Saint-Germain edged closer to securing their 11th Ligue 1 title in 13 seasons with a commanding 6-1 comeback victory over Saint-Etienne on Saturday.
Their path to glory was further smoothed when second-placed Marseille suffered a 3-1 defeat to Reims earlier in the day.
Now, PSG could officially clinch the title with seven matches remaining—provided Nice and Monaco play to a draw in the final fixture of the evening.
The match started with an early shock for the visitors as Saint-Etienne struck first. Lucas Stassin capitalized on a well-placed cross from Zuriko Davitashvili, heading past the PSG defense in the ninth minute.
However, the reigning champions found their equalizer just before halftime. Goncalo Ramos calmly converted a penalty after being fouled in the area by Florian Tardieu.
PSG seized control in the second half, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalizing on a poor back pass near midfield.
The winger sprinted towards goal, cut inside, and unleashed a clinical finish to put his side ahead.
Saint-Etienne struggled to respond as PSG turned up the intensity. Desire Doue added two goals to extend the lead, sandwiching a strike from Joao Neves.
The scoring spree was rounded off by substitute Ibrahim Mbaye, who finished off a precise cross from Bradley Barcola, sealing an emphatic win for the Parisian giants.
