A fire incident occurred on Wednesday evening at the Ibis Royal Hotel located near Ajao Estate along the Airport Road in Lagos State.
Videos circulating on social media depicted a two-story building engulfed in flames.
Jubril Gawat Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, shared information about the incident on a social media platform. According to Gawat, the fire was reported at 4:50 pm.
Gawat also mentioned that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service dispatched fire crews from Isolo and Bolade to the scene.
According to him, their prompt response helped contain the fire, preventing significant damage.
Authorities are likely conducting investigations to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
“Operations concluded without injury nor death recorded. Well Done to our Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,” he said.
