Chinese President, Xi Jinping, has extended an invitation to President Bola Tinubu for a state visit to China scheduled for September.
The invitation was delivered by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, during a meeting at the Aso Villa on Thursday.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, shared the news in a statement posted on his official X handle on Friday.
The statement revealed that President Tinubu has accepted the invitation, expressing hope that the visit will enhance Nigeria-China bilateral relations and advance the proposed currency swap agreement.
“Chinese leader President Xi Jinping has invited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay a state visit to China in September.
“China’s vice minister of foreign affairs, Chen Xiaodong, delivered the invitation to President Tinubu at the Aso Villa on Thursday.
“Chen, who came with a large entourage, said President Xi would also welcome First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit. President Tinubu accepted the invitation and hoped that it would strengthen Nigeria-China bilateral relations and the proposed currency swap agreement,” Onanuga wrote on X.
