Nigerians and well-wishers have congratulated dramatist Olujimi Solanke, and veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs, as they clock 80.
Praises of the octogenarians have been sung as their contemporaries, associates and mentees celebrate their handsome contributions to the movie industry.
For decades, Solanke has featured in great epics like Death and the King’s Horseman, Kurunmi, Kongi’s Harvest, The Divorce and Ovaramwen Nogbaisi, a performance that turned him into an immediate resident of Benin City for five years on royal.
At 80, Solanke said, “My fear with dance is that the bones inside my body are already complaining, so, I dance like an elder.”
In honour of him, Nigerians expressed profound respect and gratitude for the life of a great dramatist.
Babajide Ohu stated, “This is a good one in celebrating the living legend Uncle Jimi aka Baba Agba @80! Congratulations. Happy birthday.”
Baba’jebu Dejistical wrote, “Happy 80th birthday to Baba Àgbàlagbà Uncle Jimi Solanke.”

Similarly, some Nigerians hailed Olu Jacobs as he rocked 80.
Oludotun Jacobs was born 11 July 1942, and popularly known as Olu Jacobs. He has starred in several British television series and international films. In 2007 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Jacobs has been married to Nollywood actress Joke Silva since 1989 and they are blessed with children.
Joke Silva joined others to celebrate him on his 80th birthday with a heartwarming post on Instagram, which opened doors for waves of best wishes.
Sharing a throwback photo of the veteran actor as she lovingly gushed over him, actress Joke Silva captioned, “Who has the foggiest idea who this handsome young man is?”
Reacting to the post, Netizens reacted by honouring the life of Olu Jacobs.
