The Ogun State Police Command reported on Wednesday the release of four travelers, including three Indian Nationals, who were kidnapped on Sunday along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Odutola detailed that the anti-kidnapping team of the state police command successfully rescued the hostages, who included Mr. Ola and three Indian nationals, along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
She stated, “Mr Ola, Pujan, and two other Indian nationals, names yet unknown, have regained their freedom along Ogere inward Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu, on Monday, tasked the anti-kidnapping unit with locating and apprehending the criminals responsible for the attack and abduction of the travelers.
The assailants reportedly ambushed the travelers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.
Chairman of the Ilisan Development Council, Wemmy Osude, added that additional victims had been taken into the bush by the attackers.
