The Abia State Police Command has upgraded its Radio Communications Office to operate 24 hours a day, ensuring enhanced security services across the state in 2025.
Police Public Relations Officer Maureen Chinaka, in a statement issued in Umuahia on Friday, announced the development, highlighting its significance in addressing the security needs of residents.
“The reactivation of the Communications Office is part of efforts to ensure seamless communication across all parts of the state. Outdated systems have been replaced, and modern equipment installed to enhance operational efficiency,” Chinaka stated.
She added that the office would play a vital role in managing directives and responding promptly to emergencies.
Addressing the Communications Department, the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, underscored the department’s pivotal role in maintaining security. “This department is critical to our operations. Your commitment to duty will directly impact the safety of residents across Abia,” Isa said.
The Commissioner directed the control room to remain functional around the clock, with technicians on hand to resolve technical issues swiftly.
He further cautioned officers against negligence and misconduct, warning that any lapses would attract disciplinary action. “Strategic Officers who fail to respond promptly to directives radioed from the control room will face appropriate disciplinary measures,” Isa emphasized.
