The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has initiated a thorough investigation into the brutal murder of retired Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwe of the Nigerian Army.
The retired general was killed by suspected armed robbers in Abuja on Saturday.
In a statement, spokespsrson for the FCT Police Command, from SP Josephine Adeh, said General Udokwe was attacked and murdered at his Sunshine Homes Estate residence around 3 am on Saturday.
She explained that following the report of the incident, FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, “ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
The CP extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured both them and the public of prompt justice.
He emphasized that those responsible for this heinous crime would be apprehended and prosecuted swiftly.
