The Assistant Inspector- General of police in charge of Zone 14 comprising Katsina and Kaduna, AIG Ahmad Abdulrahman, has warned ordely to VIP not to accompany their principal to the polling units ahead of the March 11governoship and state House of Assembly elections, saying anyone found guilty arrested and prosecuted.
He also sent a note of warning to would be political thugs to change their minds because the police will leave no stone unturned to take decisive actions against them.
AIG Abdulrahman gave the warnings while speaking with journalists shortly after he arrived the Kaduna Police command preparatory for the governorship and state assembly elections.
He also urged politicians to caution their supporters against creating chaos before, during or even after the election, stating that the police force will carry out the order of the Inspector General of Police to the letter in bringing to book any election trouble maker.
The police boss however commended the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly elections which he said was substantially peaceful in terms of security, saying that the police are more prepared ahead of the coming election.
“In the coming elections, the police are fully prepared and anybody who tries to throw spanners in the system will meet us ready and we will take decisive action against such person or group of persons.
“Similarly, orderlies to VIPs must not accompany their principals to venue of election, because any of them found will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly,” he stressed.
He also told people of Kaduna State to remain law abiding and go about their duties peacefully, assuring that the police will always protect them.
