A police orderly (name withheld) has been reportedly shot and killed in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
According to Channels, the Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed the incident.
“Effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing hoodlums and recover the rifle,” she said.
It was reported that the sad incident happened around the popular Landmark hotel at Olu Obasanjo road on Friday night.
The attackers shot at the male police inspector while he was escorting his principal and fled in a 2005 Toyota Corolla that was grey in hue.
The inspector’s AK-47 rifle and beret are said to have been stolen by the attackers.
