Yobe Police Command has arrested one Sani Musa of Nayi-Nawa ward, Damaturu in connection with the stabbing of a young salesgirl.
The State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He noted that the Response Unit, known as Haba Maza, in a joint operation with the State Intelligence Department apprehended the suspects.
Abdularim explained that the 22-year-old suspect was arrested in a hideout in possession of the victim’s snatched cell phone, Itel A663LC/MTN Sim Card, along with other assorted charms.
“The culprit unequivocally confessed to the commission of the crime when interviewed by police”, the PPRO said.
“A discreet investigation has been launched into the incident, and proactive measures have been implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” he added
Reports earlier indicated that Sheba Simon, a 24-year-old salesgirl, was stabbed by unidentified hoodlums in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.
