The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended two female suspects, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, for their involvement in a child trafficking syndicate.
The Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
The suspects were arrested in connection with the trafficking of five children
“The suspects who attempted to escape arrest from Sokoto police operatives, were intercepted and arrested by FCT police operatives at Kagini junction, Abuja, while suspiciously conveying five children into the Federal Capital Territory on April 27, 2024, at about 8:00 p.m,” the statement read
In a spirit of cooperation, the FCT Police Command has transferred the suspects and victims to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, emphasized the importance of parents paying close attention to their children’s safety. He also reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents.
