Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command apprehended a suspected electricity cable vandal.
The arrest was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement released on his official X handle.
The suspect, identified as Abu Ali and aged 35, was apprehended by officers from the Pen Cinema Division around 1 am.
The arrest was made following alerts from motorists who observed the suspect engaging in suspicious activity.
According to the statement, Abu Ali was arrested at Ode Aran bus stop in Ogba, where he was found in possession of vandalized cables. SP Benjamin Hundeyin emphasized that the suspect will face prosecution for his alleged crime.
The statement issued by the Lagos State Police Command read, “At about 1 am, officers from Pen Cinema Division responded to calls from motorists that somebody was sighted cutting cables. Abu Ali, aged 35, was arrested at Ode Aran bus stop, Ogba, with vandalized cables. Prosecution follows.”
