The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four individuals linked to the murder of a barber in Isale Oja Kuto, Abeokuta, allegedly carried out by suspected cultists.
According to The PUNCH, this development comes amid ongoing violence in the area, which saw another fatal attack on Friday night.
During the second incident, a 48-year-old POS operator, Fatai Kehinde, also known as Faity, was brutally killed by members of a rival cult group under the Kuto bridge in Abeokuta.
Kehinde, who was the son of the Baale of Kuto Community, was reportedly chased from his shop in Kuto market to the location where he was attacked. He was laid to rest on Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the arrests, stating, “We have successfully apprehended four suspects connected to the barber’s killing. Our efforts to track down others involved are ongoing.
“Let it be clear that there is no safe haven for criminals in this state. We will bring all those responsible to justice.”
The police have intensified their investigation to apprehend all individuals involved in the recent spate of cult-related violence in Abeokuta.
