The Chairman, Editorial Board of the Nation Newspaper, Sam Omatseye has described the arrest of the suspected killers of the congregants of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State as a mockery of the Nigerian Police.
While speaking on TVC News on Friday, Omatseye said the arrest of the suspects by the men of the regional security network is a mockery of the men of the Nigerian Police who he explained has all it takes to perform effectively.
The Commandant of Amotekun in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye announced on Thursday that the network has arrested a number of suspects who were linked to the June 5 attack in Owo, Ondo State
“it’s not the police or men of the Nigerian Army that captured these people, the people with the right ammunition and manpower could not do anything”
“This is a mockery of them because it’s the ones with the leopard-coloured uniforms with little or no federal incentives who arrested them”
He also explained that the recent development is an affirmation of the value of the regional security network, the Amotekun security.
Omatseye explained that it further justifies the need for the creation of state police while also encouraging the Federal Government to set up the necessary structures to ensure the creation of state police across the 36 states of the Federation
