The house of the district head of the Bokkos Local Government Area of the Plateau State Michael Adanchi have been burnt down.
According to The PUNCH, the house was burnt down some women who were protesting the recent Bolo Haram attack in the communities.
A source said the incident was said to have occurred around 12.30pm.
The source was also quoted as saying that the women burnt down the house following the arrest of some members of the community for their alleged involvement in the recent killings in the area, adding that the traditional ruler’s residence and his administrative office were burnt down.
“The incident began at the police station where they expressed their anger over the arrest of some members of the community. After leaving the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, protesting that he was a sellout. A few minutes after reaching the house, they set it ablaze,” the source said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, hconfirmed the incident, adding that the command would release a statement on the incident as soon as possible.
Punch Metro had reported that over 100 persons were attacked and killed in 17 villages in the Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state on Christmas Eve.
The attacks also displaced over 10,000 persons, many of whom were presently taking refuge in churches, mosques, schools, and private residences.
