Following the order given by the Nigeria Labour Congress, to embark on 2 day warning strike, nationwide, the Kaduna state chapter of the Union has put the gate of the state secretariat under keys and padlock.
The warning strike was announced to protest the growing poverty and economic hardship, experienced in Nigeria, following the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The fuel subsidy removal which was announced by President Bola Tinubu, during his inauguration as President on May 29, 2023, and the subsequent increase in the petrol pumping price, have caused an obvious economic turbulent in the country, which has badly affected the standard of living, among the populace.
However, the Labour Union is embarking on the 2-day strike, as a warning for the government to listen to the yearnings of the people before the joint Unions embark on the total shutdown of the economy if the government fails to find an immediate solution to the suffering of the masses.
