Intense fighting have returned in Gaza on Friday following the expiration of a week-long ceasefire.

Gaza’s health ministry, run by Hamas, reported 29 casualties within the first hours after hostilities resumed at 0500 GMT.
Combat recommenced shortly after the Israeli army intercepted a rocket launched from Gaza, marking the territory’s first missile firing since the truce began on November 24.
AFP reported on Friday, December 1, that the armed wing of the group received orders to resume fighting and defend the Gaza Strip, leading to heavy clashes in various parts of Gaza City.
