A gas explosion occurred on Saturday at a market situated at Council Bus-Stop in the Idimu area of Lagos State, leading to the destruction of numerous goods.
Reports indicate that seven lock-up shops were engulfed in the inferno, and several vehicles parked at a nearby mechanic workshop were also damaged by the fire.
The Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Margaret Adeseye, revealed that they received an emergency call around 2 pm.
The fire, stemming from a gas cylinder leak in one of the shops, caused an explosion that swiftly spread to adjacent shops.
Adeseye mentioned that efforts were swiftly underway to bring the fire under control, and progress had been made in suppressing the flames.ongoing to quell any remaining pockets of fire.
