Pele’s daughter, Kely Nasicmento, has shared an emotional final photo taken of the Brazilian football legend with family members, after he died on Thursday, at age 82.
Pele had been receiving treatment for a tumour in his colon but stopped responding to care and eventually died on Thursday as reported by Punch Metro.
Following the announcement of her father’s death, Kely shared a photo on Instagram showing her family holding Pele’s hand as he lay in a hospital bed.
She wrote: “Everything we are is thanks to you. We love you infinitely. Rest in peace.”
Pele had been admitted in the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital in Sao Paulo from November, and even spent Christmas with family in the hospital bed.
Nicknamed The King, Pele won three World Cups with Brazil between 1958 and 1970, the only player in football history to achieve the feat.
Pele was survived by his third wife, Marcia Aoki and six children.
