Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death of Hon. Olaide Akinremi, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North federal constituency.
As a mark of respect, the Governor has ordered flags to be flown at half-mast across the state.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Governor Makinde described Akinremi’s demise as a great loss to the state and prayed for the repose of his soul.
He also extended his condolences to the family, praying for courage to bear the unfortunate loss.
The statement reads, “His Excellency, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered that flags be flown at half-mast throughout Oyo State in honour of the departed Federal House of Representatives members for Ibadan North federal constituency, Hon. Olaide Akinremi.
“The Governor described the sudden demise of the member of the Green Chamber as shocking and a great loss to the State.
“The Governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and courage for the family to bear the unfortunate loss.”
