Residents of Ibadan and its surrounding areas have begun receiving water after years of disruption, as the Oyo State Water Corporation announced it had resumed supply to several parts of the state.
The disruption had been caused by technical challenges, but the corporation has begun repairs on damaged infrastructure.
According to The PUNCH, the Chairman of the corporation, Elias Adeojo, confirmed the resumption of services, noting that waterworks and booster stations are now operational to support the supply to Ibadan and its environs.
He listed areas such as Molete, Bode, Labiran, Beyeruka, Eleyele, and Bashorun-Oluwo Nla as among those that now have access to potable water.
Adeojo assured residents that efforts are underway to address remaining leaks and burst pipes in other parts of the state.
He urged the public to use water responsibly, emphasizing that any newly detected issues would be promptly addressed by the corporation.
“The agency under my leadership is committed to ensuring the water supply is sustained,” Adeojo stated, while encouraging residents to report pipe bursts and leaks by calling 08077033774.
The chairman also asked for patience from residents in areas still affected by disruptions, pledging that the corporation is working diligently to restore services to the entire state.
