Some community leaders at Apete, Awotan, Ayegun and their environs in Ibadan, Oyo State, have decried the criminal activities in the area.
According to the Nation, the community leaders raised this concern following the arrest of three suspected Islamic clerics by the Oyo State Police Command over alleged beheading of a surveyor at Moniya.
They called for collaboration among the residents towards curbing insecurity in their communities.
The leaders warned evil perpetrators to desist, adding whoever was caught in the dastardly act would not go unpunished.
One of the clerics arrested was said to be a landlord at Alapata area of Apete in Ido Local Government. His home was said to be close to the surveyor’s office.
The clerics were said to have lured the surveyor, who had worked for one of them, on the pretext of the award of a job, to a bush at Moniya where he was beheaded.
