The Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency has inaugurated a block of three classrooms and a motorized borehole in Iganna community, Iwajowa Local Government Area, as part of efforts to improve access to education and potable water in rural areas.
The projects were officially commissioned on Wednesday by the Chairman of OYCSDA, Abideen Adeaga, in the company of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, and the former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Adeniyi Farinto.
Speaking at the event, Adeaga emphasized the agency’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and meeting the essential needs of underserved communities.
“The three-classroom block, complete with furniture for teachers and students, is designed to create a sustainable and conducive learning environment,” he said.
Adeaga also acknowledged the unwavering support of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that the administration’s funding of grassroots initiatives has positively impacted rural communities.
“We deeply appreciate Governor Makinde’s dedication to addressing issues in education, healthcare, water sanitation, and erosion control. His backing has been instrumental in the success of these projects,” he added.
In addition to the classroom project, a motorized borehole was commissioned at Olopele Village, Idiko-Ago, to supply clean water to residents of the Tiwalere community.
The Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Muritala Oyewumi, expressed gratitude to the state government and OYCSDA for their proactive measures in tackling critical challenges.
“These initiatives have brought significant relief to our people. We thank the governor for driving socioeconomic development and commend OYCSDA for its impactful interventions in education, water, and sanitation,” Oyewumi stated.
