Normal operations resumed at the various motor parks in Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday, less than 24 hours after the inauguration of the new Executive Council members of the Parks Management System in Oyo State.
According to The PUNCH, transporters have been observed moving into the multi-billion naira Bus Terminal at both the Challenge and the Ojoo areas, which had been under lock and key following the ousting of the fleeing leader of the disbanded Parks Management System, Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxillary.
It would be recalled that Auxiliary was declared wanted by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly stockpiling arms and ammunition after the PMS was dissolved by the state Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Auxiliary, whose home was also raided by police, was charged with robbery, kidnapping, and other criminal offences.
Makinde announced the new PMS leadership on Sunday, saying the selection was part of the state government’s overhaul of the system, and that the new management team included members from all of the key factions in the transport union.
