Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has mourned the Elemure of Emure-Ekiti, HRM Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, who recently passed away.
The news of the renowned traditional ruler’s demise was officially communicated to the governor over the weekend, following the conclusion of all traditional rites.
Governor Oyebanji, in a condolence message conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, described Oba Adebayo’s passing as a sorrowful development, especially since the late monarch showed no signs of illness during their last encounter.
He praised the late Oba Adebayo as a caring and dependable traditional ruler who had a deep concern for his people, demonstrating remarkable interest in their well-being and the advancement of his town.
In offering his condolences to the late monarch’s family, the Elemure-in-Council, and the town’s residents, the Governor encouraged them to find comfort in the fact that Oba Adebayo lived a meaningful life of service to his town, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and humanity, leaving behind an indelible legacy.
“My sympathies, along with those of the Government of Ekiti State, are extended to the immediate family of the late Kabiyesi, the Elemure-in-Council, and the good people of Emure-Ekiti following the passing of the Elemure, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo.
“The late Oba Adebayo was a distinguished leader of his people, a proponent of progress, and a patriot who dedicated his early years to serving the country as a police officer, eventually rising to the rank of Commissioner of Police before assuming the throne of his ancestors. As a traditional ruler, he left a lasting impact, with his reign bringing significant development to his town.
“Our prayers are with the departed monarch for eternal rest, and may the family and the people of Emure-Ekiti find solace in this difficult time,” added the Governor.
