Over 9,000 civil servants who participated in the 2022 Federal Civil Service Promotion examinations failed the examination.
The Federal Civil Service Commission revealed this from a list obtained by The PUNCH, indicating that out of over 13,000 candidates from diverse sectors such as the core civil service, Nigeria Police, and other specialized agencies, only 3,851 were successful.
The Federal Civil Service Commission, in a letter dated November 30, 2023, disclosed the list of successful candidates, signed by the Director of Promotions, Sani Bello.
The promotions ranged across different roles, with specific numbers like 139 officers promoted from Assistant Chief Administrative Officer to Chief Administrative Officer, 191 from Principal Administrative Officer to Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, and various others.
Additionally, a letter sent from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation announced the 2023 promotion exercise for civil servants in the pool, scheduled from December 11, 2023, to December 16, 2023.
