The Independent National Electoral Commission has disclosed that 1,693,963 permanent voters cards have not yet been picked up in Lagos state.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, this was disclosed through a document released by the commission’s Lagos office on Friday.
As of December 29, there were 6,570,291 old PVCs received from the national headquarters, of which 5,653,330 have been collected.
On the other hand, as of December 29, there were 940,200 fresh PVCs that had been received from the headquarters, of which 163,198 had been collected.
The document also reveals that the commission’s offices received 7,510,491 fresh and used PVCs in total. 1,693,963 were still owed as of December 29 whereas 5,816,528 had already been collected.
PVC collection in all 774 LGAs nationwide started on December 12, 2022, and is expected to go until January 22, 2023.
