Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has rolled out a fresh N159 billion infrastructure initiative for the 2025 fiscal year, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to extensive development across the state.
Speaking at the EXCO Lounge in his office on Tuesday, the governor outlined the ambitious plan, which prioritizes road construction, education, and healthcare infrastructure.
He reassured residents that his government would see all projects—both ongoing and newly initiated—through to completion.
Adeleke emphasized that the infrastructure blueprint includes both projects inherited from past administrations and new ones introduced under his leadership.
He proudly stated that no loans were taken to fund these initiatives.
Among the key projects listed in the plan are the Osogbo-Iwo-Oyo State boundary road, estimated at N5.94 billion, and the Osogbo-Ikirun-Insha-Kwara State boundary road, valued at N13.7 billion.
The reconstruction of the 5.1-kilometer Ejigbo-Isoko-Aye-Oguro road will cost N3.02 billion, while the dualization of Odo Ori Junction-Post Office Junction-Adeeke Junction, including a spur to Oluwo Palace, will be executed in phases at a total cost of N10.42 billion.
Providing an update on existing infrastructure projects, the governor highlighted the administration’s achievements so far.
“It is my honour to report that we have completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 150 kilometers of roads, 200 Primary Health Centres, and 99 schools, while several dualization and flyover projects are at various stages of completion,” Adeleke stated.
He further detailed the progress of key road and bridge projects:
“The Ilesa dualization project is 60 percent completed; the Ile-Ife flyover project is 60 percent completed; the Oke-Fia flyover is over 90 percent done, while the LAMECO flyover is about 50 percent executed,” he added.
“I am equally glad to inform this august gathering that the 1.5 kilometers across all the State’s Local Government Areas are almost completed. The Oke Gada bridge is almost 70 percent completed. We are pushing ahead with these mega projects. I assure the public of completion within this fiscal year. Our administration will not leave any project uncompleted,” Adeleke stated.
Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to infrastructural transformation, pledging to deliver a legacy of sustainable development for Osun State.
