The Shepherd In-Charge of Celestial Church Of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Obaloran Quarters, in Ile-Ife Osun State, Most Superior Evangelist Olagbaju Moris Gbade Fadehan, was reportedly murdered and set ablaze inside his church by his assistant, Evangelist Olalekan Ogundipe.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.
It was gathered that the deceased, Fadehan, was reportedly set ablaze on Monday evening by his assistant, Ogundipe, after a conflict degenerated into a fight.
The incident was said to have occurred at Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Parish Omitoto, Ile-Ife.
A source who craved anonymity informed journalists that the problem started after the close of work when the deceased had an argument with his assailant.
The source said, “Fadehan had a conflict with the suspect, and this degenerated into a fight after the close of their service on Monday evening.
“Most Superior Evangelist Olagbaju Moris Gbade Fadehan, the Shepherd In-Charge of CCC Grace of Comfort Parish, Obaloran Quarters, in Ile-Ife Osun State, was reportedly killed in the church premises on Monday evening, February 26.”
The source added that the suspect allegedly stabbed Fadehan, causing him to die on the spot.
“After he stabbed his boss, he thereafter allegedly set the deceased ablaze with his robe on him.
“The suspect was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police.”
Commenting on the incident, Opalola disclosed that the suspect has been arrested and detained by the Osun Police Command.
“Investigation into the incident has commenced.
“At about 10:15 am on Monday, one Moris Fadehan, aged 65 years, of Grace of Comfort Oke Odo, Omitoto, Ile-Ife, was killed by one Lekan, who is also a member of the church. Upon arrival, his body was found in a pool of blood. Marks of violence were also discovered on the body of the deceased.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime. Remains of the deceased were deposited at the OAUTHC morgue for autopsy.”
