The Osun State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of Wale Abbas as chairman of the Osun Amotekun Board and Adekunle Omoyele as Corps Commander.
According to The PUNCH, this decision followed the nominations made by Governor Ademola Adeleke on July 5, who forwarded their names to the House for legislative approval.
Olamide Tiamiyu, Chief Press Secretary to Speaker Adewale Egbedun, released a statement highlighting that the confirmation aimed to bolster the state’s security framework.
The statement read, “The House of Assembly confirmed Abbas, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, as the new Chairman of the Amotekun Governing Board. It also confirmed Omoyele as the Corps Commander. The confirmations came after the nominees were screened by the lawmakers on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024.
