A welder in Ondo State identified as Daniyan Ojo has been sentenced to death by hanging over the murder of his wife Dorcas Daniyan.
Ojo who appeared before a High Court in the state was found guilty of having set their house ablaze and locked the wife inside a room in the house while she was sleeping.
The 50-year-old convict was said to have committed the offence on September 14, 2019, at lrese Road in Shagari Village, Akure, the state capital, according to The PUNCH.
After committing the offence, he was arrested by the men of the state police command and later arraigned before the court.
The matter was argued in the court by both prosecuting and defence counsels for three years before the court finally gave its judgment.
While delivering the judgement, Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye, held that the prosecution had proved the case against Ojo beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced him to death by hanging.
