Ondo State Police Command has arrested a final year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Olubodun Sanni, over the alleged murder of one Miss Adekunle Adebisi Ifeoluwa.
State Police Commissioner, Abayomi Peter Oladipo, made this known while parading some suspects, noting that police discovered that the deceased phone was missing after the murder.
Miss Adekunle was reportedly found dead on February 2nd, 2024 inside the one-room apartment she rented outside the campus.
She was a 300-level student in the Department of Economics.
21-year-old Sanni was alleged to have stabbed his victim to death and stole her iPhone XR.
Speaking further on the incident, Abayomi noted that the police through the use of modern technology traced the phone to 21-year-old Sanni who is also a neighbour to the deceased in the hostel.
“The recovered phone led to further questioning of the suspect who gave details of what happened in his confessional statement,” he said.
The CP disclosed that Sanni would be charged to court at the end of the investigation.
He equally paraded one Umar Ibrahim who killed his friend, Mohammadu Adamu.
Umar reportedly killed Adamu while they were on their way to Ogali through Kogi state.
Confessing, Umar said he killed Adamu when he noticed that Adamu and one Basiru planned to kidnap and kill him.
