The Social Democratic Party in Ondo State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a chieftain of the party in Ondo West Local Government, Mr. Abu Thomas.
It was gathered that Mr. Abu died on Thursday while working in his farm.
In a statement by the State Chairman of the party, Stephen Adewale described the deceased as a loyal Party leader who would be missed.
The State Chairman lamented the passage, saying it occurred when his political skills were extremely required.
Adewale said; “As the Ward Chairman in Ondo West, the late Mr. Abu gave his all to effective mobilisation, and coordination of members in his ward. He served the people and the party with all sincerity and strength of character.
“Mr Abu was a party man to the core. It is not easy to quantify his contributions to the development of Ward 5 in Ondo West Local Government. It would be difficult to find adequate replacement for his position.
“The party condoles with his wife, the immediate family, people of Ward 5, and every member of SDP in Ondo West. We pray God to comfort them, and grant his soul eternal rest, “Adewale mourns.
Until his death, the late chieftain was the chairman of the party in Ward 5, Ondo West Local Government.
